Gynaecologic and endoscopic surgery
At Clínica Corachan, we have every technology required to treat multiple pathologies in the gynaecological, obstetric and oncological fields. Many of these pathologies can be addressed via surgery, with laparoscopic surgery being one of our major specialties and with which we have the best results.
Gynaecological surgery is a very specific area of gynaecology and obstetrics. These days, abdominal endoscopic surgery, which is valued as the first option for treating gynaecological pathologies, is available. It has multiple advantages over open abdominal surgery. It is characterized by being minimally invasive, which means a faster recovery with more safety and less surgical trauma.
Several pathologies can be addressed, among which are:
- Organic ovarian cysts
- Uterine fibroids
- Endometriosis
- Hysterectomy due to uterine pathology or pelvic floor pathology
Endoscopic vaginal surgery is hysteroscopy, which enables diagnosis and treatment of endometrial pathologies: polyps, myomas, uterine malformations (septa) and synechiae (adhesions of the endometrial cavity).
Vaginal surgery enables treatment of a gynaecological pathology, with non-visible scars and rapid recovery of usual activity: hysterectomy of the uterus myomatous by means of the morcellation technique (fragmentation of the surgical piece), treatment of pelvic floor pathology (uterine prolapse), cystocele, rectocele), or surgery for urinary incontinence (TOT, TVT).
Abdominal surgery continues to be an option when previous techniques are not indicated, or the surgeon cannot obtain the same results for reasons of safety.
Endometriosis
The uterus, or womb, is the place where the baby develops when a woman is pregnant. Endometriosis is a disease in which the type of tissue that normally grows inside the uterus grows outside the uterus. It can appear in the ovaries, the fallopian tubes, the intestines or the bladder.
Symptoms
- Pain, usually in the abdomen, lower back, or areas of the pelvis
- Infertility
- Strong menstruations and bleeding between periods
- Painful menstrual cramps
Some women do not have any symptoms. Having trouble getting pregnant can be the first sign.
We have several possible treatments, the most important one being the most conservative laparoscopic surgery possible.
