Clínica Corachan is one of the most prestigious private clinics in Barcelona. We combine tradition and modernity, which guarantees maximum attention and personalised treatment.
The clinic was founded on 19 May 1921 at its current location by Dr Manuel Corachan, an eminent surgeon and prolific teacher. The institution focuses on attending and satisfying all of its patients’ needs by offering high quality, personal attention with a human touch.
Teaching and research
As part of its commitment to quality, cutting-edge technology, and excellence in care, in 2025 Clínica Corachan was recognized as one of the best hospitals in Spain in the field of pediatrics, consolidating its position as a leading center for child care. That same year, it also received an award at the Best Spanish Hospitals Awards® (BSH) for its excellence in the area of maternal and child health, a recognition that endorses its clinical quality, safety, and results in healthcare processes aimed at mothers and children.
These awards are the latest in a long line of accolades for excellence. In 2024, Clínica Corachan was named one of the Top 20 by IASIST in the Digestive Area (General and Digestive Surgery), in recognition of its excellent results in patient management. That same year, it also received the Best Spanish Hospitals Awards® as the best hospital for its excellence in surgical and maternal-child processes, reinforcing its leadership in these areas.
In 2023, the clinic was honored with the IASIST Top 20 in the Heart Area and in the Women's Area (Gynecology, Pediatrics, and Breast Unit), ranking among the top national hospitals in these specialties.
In the 2009, 2015, 2016, 2016, 2017, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022 editions, it was distinguished as the best clinic in Spain in the Global Hospital Management category.
Clínica Corachan, with these awards, consolidates its position of excellence in this ranking, proving to be one of the most efficient and best valued centers in the country. At the same time, the Clinic is accredited by the Generalitat de Catalunya as an acute care center and was the first hospital in Spain to obtain the “Confianza” accreditation in patient safety.
In recent years, Clínica Corachan has promoted a progressive expansion of its Campus with the aim of improving accessibility, care specialization and the patient experience.
In 2014 Clínica Corachan took an important step forward with a new 12,995 m2 building completely integrated in the rest of the healthcare complex. The expansion contains cutting-edge facilities, new high-tech operating rooms, a new and complete obstetrics area, a new A&E department, new rooms, new parking spaces, new high-performance magnetic resonance imaging and many more services.
In 2017, the Clinic opened Corachan Nord, a 1,500 m² outpatient building located in Tres Torres Street no. 7 to which the specialities of internal medicine, paediatrics, dermatology, cardiology, general surgery, pneumology and allergies have been transferred. The building houses the latest trends in healthy materials, and has excellent, universal, barrier-free accessibility and antibacterial handles on all the doors of the enclosure, which guarantees advanced, complete and quality healthcare.
In 2019, Corachan 3 was renovated to house the GCCC 360 Center of Excellence in Oncology, a result of the collaboration between Clínica Corachan and GenesisCare. The center occupies floors -1, -2, and 3 of the building and is equipped with advanced technology to offer comprehensive cancer care, supporting patients through all phases of treatment.
That same year, Clínica Corachan opened Corachan Castellnou, a new center within the Corachan Campus dedicated to the area of neurosciences, designed to offer specialized care in modern, accessible facilities adapted to both adult and pediatric patients.
In 2021, Corachan expands its Campus with the opening of Corachan Sarrià, a new center located at the confluence of Avinguda de Sarrià and Carrer Numància, two minutes walk from the central building, which was initially home to the Unitat Integrated from Preoperatoris, the Laboratory of Clinical Analysis and the Corachan Dental and Maxillofacial Unit.
In 2025, Clínica Corachan reinforces its constant commitment to technological innovation and excellence in assistance, incorporating the latest version of the Da Vinci robot to provide patients and professionals with the most advanced and safe equipment for their interventions.
Furthermore, by the end of 2025, the Diagnostic Imaging Department will be renovated to offer a more comfortable experience. The upgrade includes a new reception area with exclusive access, redesigned waiting rooms, and state-of-the-art technology.
