Minimally-invasive nasal and paranasal sinus surgery

Endoscopic sinonasal surgery (ESS) is the surgical treatment of choice in the inflammatory, infectious pathology of paranasal sinus and in the treatment of benign sinonasal tumours.

By introducing an endoscope into the nose, the various anatomical structures of the area are controlled enabling the necessary instruments to be able to carry out the surgery to be handled.

At the same time, this technique allows orbital pathologies to be dealt with, such as the obstruction of the tear duct or carrying out orbital decompression in the context of hyperthyroidism. This approach is also used to close perforations of the nasal septum.

Endoscopic surgery has great advantages over open surgery, such as the absence of facial incisions, lower morbidity in terms of the presence of scabs, post-operative pain and bleeding and shorter hospital stays.
