Breast enlargement

Breast enlargement or mammoplasty is a surgical procedure aimed at improving the size and shape of a woman's breast.

Mastopexy is an intervention which aims to lift and improve the shape of sagging breasts (ptosis) by implanting a prosthesis. When required and if needed, a breast implant and the transfer of body fat from another part of the body can be combined in a single surgical intervention. In this kind of intervention, the size of the areola can be reduced if it is very large.

The approximate duration of a breast enlargement surgery is between 1.5 and 2 hours depending on the characteristics of the patient and whether there is any other kind of associated pathology.

Days in hospital: 2 days

Pain after a breast operation is moderately intense and is controlled by means of an analgesic dose which is gradually decreased over the four days after the operation.
