Abdominoplasty

Abdominoplasty is a cosmetic surgery procedure in which defects of the skin, fat and abdominal muscles are corrected.

It is indicated to correct abdominal deformities after pregnancy and in patients who have an accumulation of fat or excess flaccidity on their abdomen that does not disappear with diet or exercise.

The duration of the operation is usually between two and five hours depending on the characteristics of the patient, and the time in hospital is usually two days.

Of this kind of intervention, the most requested procedure is a lipoabdominoplasty in which, initially, the abdominal fat is emptied out, later removing excess skin along with the plicature of the rectus abdominis muscles.

Days in hospital: 2 days

The recovery may take a few weeks to a couple of months depending on the physical state of the patient before the operation.
